People on the move

Jan Schroeder recently joined RE/MAX Integrity at its brokerage, 365 N.W. Harrison Blvd., Corvallis. Schroeder is a prior business owner and a resident of the area for more than three decades.

Carole de Glanville, a real estate professional in Corvallis, recently joined Keller Williams Mid-Willamette Market Center. De Glanville has a background in real estate and is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Jenipher Miller was recently promoted to branch manager at OSU Federal Credit Union's Woodburn Branch situated in the Woodburn Safeway grocery store. Miller joined OSU Federal as the Woodburn branch assistant manager when it was opened in November 2005. Miller succeeds Nathan Wuerch, the former Woodburn branch manager who earlier this month transferred to serve as branch manager of OSU Federal's new location in West Salem.

Alan Edwards has joined the real estate sales team at Windermere/Willamette Valley, Albany. Alan has been working in real estate for nearly two years. Previously, Edwards managed a machine and fabrication shop for Willamette Industries.

Comings and goings

Windermere/Willamette Valley, Albany recently moved to a new location, 1530 Ninth Ave. S.E. The Albany office is managed by Principal Broker Ana Norlander and the real estate brokers working out of this office are Polly Cappalo, Jennifer Fidler, Donna (Clark) Seale, Chad White, Beth Hall, Debbie Brooks, Marcia Woods, Rob Richards, Jennifer Stitzel, Kimberly Frost, Ronda Houses, Linn Decker, Jonathan Miller and Alan Edwards.

Officers and directors

John Dezanni has been elected to the board of directors of the Business Enterprise Center. The BEC is a nonprofit business accelerator where people can hatch an idea, build a prototype and launch a high-tech startup in an entrepreneurial environment. Dezanni, of Jeanne Smith & Associates P.C., is an attorney and Certified Financial Planner. He is a commander in the reserve component of the United States Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps.

OSU Federal Investment Services' Barbara Koontz was recognized with a 2007 Gold Pacesetter Award at the 2008 annual "Focus, Commit, Evolve" conference of CUSO Financial Services, LP, held recently in San Diego. The award honors the top performers among the registered representatives among CFS' 100-plus credit union programs. Koontz works in the OSU Federal Financial Center branch on Northwest Ninth Street, Corvallis.

Patrick O. Long, DVM, of Corvallis, was honored with the 2008 Dr. Donald E. Bailey Small Ruminant Practitioner of the Year award recently in New Orleans, La.

The annual award presented by the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners recognizes a member that has set a high standard as a small ruminant practitioner and demonstrated exemplary service in organized veterinary medicine, particularly small ruminant medicine.

Long, a 1976 graduate of Kansas State University, operates Camelid Healthcare Services in Corvallis. He serves as treasurer of the Alpaca Research Foundation and Oregon Animal Health Foundation. He is an active member of the Willamette Valley Llama Foundation and a trustee of the Morris Animal Foundation.

Training and development

Ingeborg Kolar, aesthetician and licensed skin care professional, of Ingeborg's Beauty Therapy, recently qualified for the national accreditation by the National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufacturers/Distributors and Associations, an organization promoting professional standards in the beauty industry. Kolar is a facilitator for the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program catering to patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She also recently qualified to add chemical peels to her menu of services.
