Larry Mullins, DHA, president and CEO of Samaritan Health Services, Thomas Aschenbrener, president of Northwest Health Foundation and The Rev. ReneƩ Ward, founder and executive director of Chrysalis Ministries, are the 2008 recipients of Oregon Health Forum's Leadership in Health awards. Mullins will receive the lifetime leadership award.

Dr. Mullins was nominated by Sen. Frank Morse (R-Albany), a board member and former chairman of Samaritan Health Services, a Corvallis-based health system.

Thayne Dutson, recently retired dean of Oregon State University's College of Agricultural Sciences, will be presented with the 2008 ag connection award by the Agri-Business Council of Oregon. The award is given annually to recognize outstanding leadership in connecting the public with agriculture. Dutson oversaw significant growth of the college's education and research roles, including expansion of the OSU Seafood Laboratory in Astoria - a partnership with the Seafood Consumer Center -and establishment of the Food Innovation Center in Portland, in collaboration with the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

The Agri-Business Council of Oregon is a private, nonprofit volunteer membership organization governed by farmers, ranchers and those directly associated with Oregon agriculture.

Comings and goings

People on the move

Angela Stuckart has joined RE/MAX Integrity as a broker. Prior to working in real estate, she was a private business owner. She works out of the Corvallis office located at 365 N.W. Harrison Blvd.

Jonathan Miller recently obtained his real estate license and joined the sales team at Windermere/Willamette Valley. He has a Bachelor of Science in business from Linfield College.

Lisa Nolan is the new volunteer coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis through the Americorps VISTA program. She obtained her degree from Oregon State University in human development and family sciences with an emphasis in early childhood education. Nolan plans to obtain her master's degree in education and teach elementary school. She previously was on the Summer Day Camp staff for the Boys & Girls Club and coaches a club seventh-grade volleyball team.

Mary Bentley of Valley Catering has been appointed as a director on the board of Corvallis Tourism.

Kathleen Hutchinson was recently hired as the full-time executive director of the Business Enterprise Center, a regional small business incubator.

Hutchinson served as executive director from 1996-2006 for CASA, Voices for Children. She established CASA as a 501C3 in Benton County and formed a board of directors. Since 2004, Kathleen has been a real estate broker with RE/MAX Integrity. She is the president of the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis.

Reinvestment

The Ball Studio photography in Corvallis has donated more than $15,000 to the Austin Entrepreneurship Program at Oregon State University. The studio's contribution has funded trips for members of the Weatherford residential college leadership team to visit leading West Coast-based corporations.

The Ball Studio is a family-owned photography firm that was established in Corvallis in 1912.
