Elizabeth Groner has joined Riverside Window & Door Inc. as a sales consultant. Formerly, she worked with her husband, David Groner, managing Landmark Construction. Groner brings many years of experience in remodeling as well as new construction. She is also active in the community and currently serves as president of the Corvallis chapter of Altrusa International, which provides service and assistance to many needy individuals in the area.

Timothy Ueng, M.D., has joined Samaritan Family Medicine in Corvallis. He is accepting new patients. Ueng completed a bachelor's degree in psychology at Pacific Union College and a medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, both in California. He completed residency training at Wilson Medical Center in New York. He is board certified in family medicine. Before joining Samaritan, Ueng served in the U.S. Army as a medical officer. In his free time he enjoys hiking, traveling, swimming and the outdoors.

Hugh Holtman has been promoted to associate broker with Hagerman Frick O'Brien (HFO) LLC, an investment real estate firm. Holtman will focus exclusively on serving HFO's growing client base in Salem, Corvallis, Albany and Eugene/Springfield. Before joining HFO in 2006 as a broker assistant, Holtman was a project engineer at Skanska USA Building. Holtman received a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from OSU. Prior to graduation he attended the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark and the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, as part of a student exchange program. Larry Mullins, DHA, president and CEO of Samaritan Health Services, was recently appointed by Gov. Ted Kulongoski to the Oregon Homeland Security Council. The Oregon Homeland Security Council was created within the U.S. Office of Homeland Security. As a board member, Mullins will receive briefings from the director of the Office of Homeland Security and advise the director on the future direction of the office's planning, preparedness, response and recovery activities. Mullins completed his doctorate in health care administration with a special area of study on organizational change and leadership. His dissertation was on crisis leadership and disaster planning where he examined the state of hospital disaster preparedness pre- and post-9/11.

The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund has given donations of: $1,500 to CALYX, Inc. of Corvallis for the reprint of "The Black Candle: Poems by Women From India, Pakistan and Bangladesh," by Chitra Divakaruni; $743 to Kings Valley Charter School to purchase a laminator; and $4,900 to Philomath High School to assist with the purchase of two Smart Board systems.
