Shawna Corden has been awarded the designation of Associate Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation. Corden is an executive and personal coach with Hewlett-Packard Co. and the owner of Azarias Coaching. She has completed more than 200 hours of training with CoachU, the world's largest coach training school, and has provided more than 300 client coaching hours. She is one of 40 in Oregon to be certified by the ICF and the first in Corvallis.

Henderer Design+Build of Corvallis recently received the regional Contractor of the Year Award for Residential Addition $100K to $250K from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

Chere Pereira, who has served as the chief pre-medical adviser at Oregon State University for 21 years, recently received the Founder's Award from the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation. This award honors an individual or organization that exhibits sustained support and advancement of the osteopathic medical profession and/or exceptional community service.
Officers and directors
Tom Kirch, the director of the Recreational Sports program at Oregon State University, has been named to the board of directors of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association, or NIRSA. Kirch had served as president of NIRSA during the last year, and officially was appointed past president and board member at the group's recent national meeting.
Christopher Gormley, a graduate assistant for OSU's Intramural Sports program, was elected as the student representative to NIRSA from Region VI. He will begin his duties June 20.

Officers recently elected to the board of the Grace Center for Adult Day Services, a not-for-profit corporation in Corvallis that aids in the care of adults, include Karen Smith, president; Scott Elmshaeuser, vice president; Deborah Adams, secretary; and Sara Ingle, treasurer.
Comings and goings
John Navarro, PA-C, has joined the Samaritan Heart and Vascular Institute at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center as a physician assistant for the cardiovascular surgery team. Navarro earned a dual master's degree in physician assistant studies and public health from Touro University in Vallejo, Calif. He holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from the University of California-Davis. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery.
Training and development
Drew Koehnke, general sales manager at Corvallis car dealership Power Auto Center, recently graduated from the Dealer Candidate Academy of the National Automobile Dealers Association. This training is designed to prepare dealer successors and key management personnel to operate a new-car or new-truck dealership.
