The Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race is a premiere running event held annually on Thanksgiving morning. Organized by the Mid-Valley Lions Club and managed by a professional race management company, the chip timed event raises funds to help meet growing medical needs in the Mid-Valley and supports local service organizations' community projects. Mid-Valley Lions donations provide free vision and hearing assistance, health screenings, youth outreach activities, local, national and international disaster relief and international efforts to prevent blindness.

There are four events to choose from: (1) the 10K Scenic Challenge Run, (2) the 5K ‘To Hill and Back” Run, (3) a 2.5 Mile Walk, and (4) the Gobblers Revenge Half Marathon! Cash and prizes are awarded for the Scenic Challenge and To Hill and Back events. Visit the Oregon Mid Valley Road Race website for current fees and to register online.

The School Challenge is a signature feature of the Oregon Mid-Valley Road Race. A $1,000 prize is given to each of the local Junior High and High School that recruits the most race participants. The funds are awarded to the PTO or Booster Club at the winning schools.  2017 is the last year for the School Challenge, so be sure to vote to support a local school when registering.
