Eugene Ballet Company is returning to the LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St., Corvallis, for a performance of the holiday classic "The Nutcracker" Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m.
"For the first time in several years, our tour schedule allowed for a Sunday matinee performance in Corvallis instead of performing on a weekday," said Kylie Keppler, Eugene Ballet's public relations coordinator. "We feel this makes it easier for families to attend the ballet together."
Local ballet students from the Corvallis Academy of Ballet will join Eugene Ballet Company dancers on stage for "The Nutcracker." Fifty children, playing roles ranging from baby mice to party children, will perform Sunday.
Choreographed by longtime Artistic Director Toni Pimble, Corvallis will mark the 25th performance for Eugene Ballet's 2017 tour of "The Nutcracker." The company will have traveled over 7,500 miles by the time they have their final performance in Eugene.
Eugene Ballet's Nutcracker boutique will be open and offering souvenirs for fans of all ages before, during intermission and after the performance.
Tickets are $27-$38. Advance tickets are available online at http://lasells.oregonstate.edu/event/eugene-ballet-nutcracker. For more information on Eugene Ballet Company, see eugeneballet.org.
