Popular Oregon group The Trail Band presents its concert, "Christmas with The Trail Band," 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis.

The concert, which is sponsored by the Whiteside Theatre and the Corvallis Folklore Society, features favorite holiday songs and original tunes arranged in the band's versatile and energetic style. Songs include "Joy to The World," "The First Noel," and many more. This concert, based on one that was originally produced for a TV special for Oregon Public Broadcasting, has become an annual tradition for thousands of concertgoers in the Pacific Northwest.

The Trail Band, formed by Marv Ross in 1991 at the request of the Oregon Trail Council to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the trail, is an eight-piece ensemble that creates an blend of brass and string arrangements of traditional and original music. It features five vocalists, cornet, tenor horn, tuba, fiddles, hammer dulcimer, guitars, pennywhistle, mandolin, saxophone, and more.

Tickets are $40 advance reserved, $25 general admission. Advance tickets available online at: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3104193 or Grass Roots Books and Music and Corvallis Brewing Supply.
