You'll find them at the Taste of Home Cooking School

The search for great-tasting recipes is a continual quest for anyone who loves to cook. Whenever conversations turn to food, someone is sure to proclaim that their recipe is the best.

Culinary Specialist Kristi Larson from the Taste of Home Cooking School agrees that many of her favorite recipes came from friends as they sat casually chatting about their culinary endeavors.

"My recipe box doubles as a collection of best-loved recipes and a history of past get-togethers. I have recipes written on napkins, envelopes, wrapping paper and snippets of scrap paper I hastily dug out of my handbag. If you love to cook like me, I'm sure you have a recipe box that tells a story of good times with friends and family, too," Larson said.

Taste of Home magazine is the largest food magazine in the world. Cooks from across the country submit their recipe box specials to be highlighted in featured articles such as "Just Dessert," "Mom's Best Meal" and "Snacks & Appetizers."

Larson will be sharing 10 fresh recipes for spring at LaSells Stewart Center on Thursday, March 19. The demonstration lineup of recipes will include dishes from National Sponsors including Crisco Olive Oil, Domino Sugar/C&H Sugar, Gallo Family Vineyards, McCormick, Mushroom Council, Ziploc Containers and Zip 'n Steam Bags.

Each attendee will receive a gift bag that contains the Taste of Home Cooking School Brand Name Cookbook along with literature from sponsors, coupons and product samples.

Taste of Home Cooking School's "Spring Sensations" presentation is being hosted by Mid-Valley Newspapers. There will be a variety of exhibits to visit before the demonstration. Tickets are on sale at the Albany Democrat-Herald, Corvallis Gazette-Times and Grass Roots Music & Books for $15.
