The past and future of Camp Adair will be the theme of this year’s Adair History Day observances, which will take place Saturday afternoon at Santiam Christian School, 7226 N.E. Arnold Ave. in Adair Village.

Sponsored by Adair Living History, the free event will begin at 1 p.m. with the introduction of residents of the Edward C. Allworth Oregon Veterans Home.

At 1:20, archaeologist Daniel Pettit will outline what remains of the infrastructure of Camp Adair on the E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area and discuss the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s plans for preserving remnants of the World War II training camp.

And at 2:30, members of the public are invited to have coffee and conversation with Pettit, Adair Living History board members and World War II re-enactors and view displays of memorabilia from Camp Adair and the Adair Air Force Station.
