Benton County Homeless Connect is seeking volunteers interested in participating in a March 11 event at the First United Methodist Church Community Center, 1165 N.W. Monroe Ave.

The event's goal is to provide essential services to Benton County's homeless population while also providing the community with a better understanding of the plight of the homeless and those on the verge of homelessness. The event will include a Lions Club medical screening and a dental van staffed by Medical Teams International; direct access to social service agencies on hand to help guests with housing, food and other essential services; access to haircuts, pet services, bike repair and more.

There are many opportunities for interested volunteers to get involved. More information - including detailed volunteer opportunities and an online sign-up form - is available at www.co.benton.or.us. or by calling 541-766-6759.
