A 26-year-old man is charged with first-degree rape and other sex offenses for an alleged 2015 incident in Benton County, court records show.
Tyler Keith Santos was booked into the Benton County Jail on Tuesday. Santos’ court file, which lists an Albany address, states he was transported from Deschutes County.
Circuit Judge Matthew Donohue imposed $500,000 security in the case.
Santos is charged with first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, according to a grand jury indictment filed Dec. 20.
The abuse is alleged to have happened on two occasions in 2015. The indictment asserts the victim was incapable of consent by reason of mental incapacitation or physical helplessness and that she did not consent to sexual contact by Santos.
Donohue on Tuesday granted Santos’ request for a court-appointed attorney and appointed Brett Jaspers to represent the defendant. Santos pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
The case is next set for a status check on Jan. 18.
