The Recycled Fashion Show makes its 21st appearance next week at Oregon State University, featuring trendy garments made of everything from sleeping bags to parking tickets.

Tickets are $5 and go on sale next week in the Memorial Union Quad. The show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at OSU's Memorial Union Ballroom.

Participants can use only $5 to create their garments, which forces them to get creative.

"Basically, (we can use) anything," said Stephanie Shipley, an OSU senior majoring in merchandising management and one of the show's organizers.

The most popular material?

"I've seen a lot of trash bags - but in very different ways," Shipley said.

Unlike OSU's spring fashion show, which features garment collections by apparel design majors, the Recycled Fashion Show is open to any OSU student.

"We have people who entered garments who are in pre-med," Shipley said.

Last year, 68 garments created by 50 participants went on display.
