CLINIC RAFFLE -- Raffle tickets for participants in this year's benefit raffle for the Alsea Rural Health Clinic will be sent out in the mail this week. They also can be purchased at the clinic at Oregon Highway 34 and Alder Street. The list of raffle items to choose from will also be sent out this week.

GLEANERS RUMMAGE SALE -- The Alsea Gleaners will hold a benefit rummage sale for the organization from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28 and 29 at the county maintenance shop, Haines Road and Alsea-Deadwood Highway. The proceeds will go toward purchasing canned foods for participants and fuel for those who transport the goods.

ROTARY CLUB RAFFLE -- The Rotary Club of Corvallis has begun preparations for its annual community raffle. This year's winner will walk away with $10,000 in gold coins. Rotary Club members are selling tickets for $20 each and no more than 2,000 tickets will be sold.
The winning ticket will be picked May 31.
Each year, the Rotary Club selects a community project to support. This year, it is again supporting the Horner Project -- an effort to move the collections of the former Horner Museum to downtown Corvallis. Other community projects supported by the Rotary are the Benton County Foundation and the Corvallis Boys & Girls Club.

Consumers Power Awards -- The Consumers Power Charitable Trust Committee awarded $5,700 at its March meeting to several non-profit organizations to help them with a wide range of programs. Grants were awarded to: Alsea Valley Advocate for Youth to purchase a new stove for hot lunch program; Altrusa International of Corvallis to purchase clothing for their Career Closet; Benton Furniture Share to help with delivery of used furniture; Benton Literacy Summer Reading for summer scholarships; Coastal Range Food Bank, Blodgett, for food purchases; Corvallis Caring Place for recreation activities; and Crescent Valley High School for lab equipment.
They were also awarded to: Lourdes Public Charter School, Scio, for new library books; Monroe Arts in the Park for a summer youth program; Philomath Youth Activities Club for a new game table; Scio Girls & Boys Club for after school recreation supplies; and one individual request for assistance to help with a rent payment.
CPI customers fund the Charitable Trust by voluntarily rounding up their monthly electric bills. A nine-member committee makes funding decisions.
