A head-on collision closed Highway 20 north of Corvallis for part of Wednesday night.

According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, at about 7:15 p.m., Travis Pitts, 24, of Albany, was driving east on Highway 20 in a Ford Focus station wagon. Near the intersection with Northwest Scenic Drive, he swerved to avoid a deer in the road. Pitts' vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Dodge Neon driven by Thomas Wilson, 21, of Albany.

Medics from the Albany Fire Department took Pitts to Samaritan Albany General Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Wilson was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by Corvallis Fire Department. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Both men were wearing seat belts; no citations were issued.
