Information comes from the Corvallis Police Department, Philomath Police Department and Oregon State Police. It does not include all calls for service. The status of incidents may change after further investigation. Locations are approximate. People arrested or suspected in crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

Corvallis Police Department

Monday, Sept. 29

HP THEFT: Reported 2:55 p.m., 1000 N.E. Circle Blvd. Hewlett-Packard Co. security notified police of two stolen flat-panel monitors, worth $1,300, that were noticed missing that day.

Philomath Police Department

Saturday, Sept. 27

DUII: 12:40 a.m., 1300 block of Main Street. A 52-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, 0.14 percent blood-alcohol content.

Monday, Sept. 29

VANDALISM: 9:30 P.M., 1800 block College Street. A 20-year-old man was arrested for second-degree criminal mischief.

Oregon State Police

Wednesday, Oct. 1

BOOKSTORE THEFT: 9:30 a.m., OSU Bookstore, Memorial Union. A 21-year-old male suspect was detained for third-degree theft for leaving the bookstore without paying for some mechanical pencil lead, valued at $1.02. He stated he didn't know how the lead got into his pockets. The suspect had $500 in cash on his person.

RACKET SMASH: 6:30 p.m., Orchard Way at 30th Street. A man in a car stopped because three males were walking shoulder-to-shoulder in his lane of traffic. He yelled at them to get out of the road. As the man drove past, one of the pedestrians hit the vehicle with a tennis racket. The man said he was calling 9-1-1, and the trio fled on foot. Police were unable to locate the suspect in the second-degree criminal mischief case.
