The Corvallis-based American branch of the international organization Kids for Kids is looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks in preparation for an upcoming fundraising concert.

Kids for Kids is a British-based organization focused on helping residents of villages in Darfur survive and thrive by providing goats, donkeys and carts, medical and horticultural supplies and other life-sustaining items.

Friends of Kids for Kids in Corvallis was started by 9-year-old Cassidy Donaldson and her mother, Kathy, after Cassidy began making and selling cat toys to raise money for Kids for Kids. On her own, Cassidy raised more than $5,000, and now that the Corvallis branch has been established, another $10,000 has been pledged by a local church.

Volunteers are needed to do envelope stuffing, hanging up flyers and do other tasks in the time leading up to the April 19 fundraising concert. Additionally, on the day of the concert, volunteers are needed as ushers and to set up and take down things at the First Presbyterian Church, where the concert takes place.

For more information or to volunteer, call Kathy Donaldson at 760-8306 or e-mail her at Kathy@kidsforkids.org.uk
