STOLEN TRUMPET - 3:37 p.m., 4045 Southwest Research Way. A Corvallis woman reported her sons' trumpet had been stolen from the music room of Ashbrook Independent School. It was a silver Yamaha Allegro trumpet worth about $1,229.

Sunday

VANDALISM - 3:21 a.m., intersection of Northwest Van Buren Avenue and Arnold Way. A woman noticed four men jumping on a parked Honda Civic. When police arrived the suspects had fled, leaving the car with a dented roof.

HONEST CITIZEN - 8 a.m., 2400 block of Northwest Professional Drive. A 78-year-old Corvallis woman found $121 on the sidewalk when she was out walking. No one else was on the street. She turned the money over to police.

Monday

STOLEN MAIL - 8 a.m., 2300 block of Northwest Estaview Circle. A couple reported their neighbor found a piece of their mail covered with mud. Hoover School called them and reported finding 12 pieces of their mail. The couple had been away for the weekend and found no mail in their mailbox when they returned.

CAR PILES ON TOP OF CAR - 11:53 a.m., parking lot at 2325 N.W. Kings Blvd. A 79-year-old Corvallis man said he drove around a corner to park and his foot "stuck on the accelerator." He drove his 2001 Honda Accord up over a curb, onto the top of a parked 1994 Saturn and tilted over to the side, resting on a 2001 Subaru. No one was in the parked cars and no one was injured. There were about 10 feet of acceleration marks before the Accord hit the curb. The driver was not cited for the crash.

PAINT BALLS - 7:14 p.m., Northeast William Carr Street and Columbia Avenue, Adair Village. Two 15-year-old boys were on the roof of one of the boys' houses launching paintballs across Highway 99W using a water balloon slingshot. Questioned by a deputy, they said they hadn't hit any cars. The deputy told them both to write at least a one-page narrative about the dangers of what they were doing.
