The Linn Benton Hispanic Advisory Committee will present the ninth annual La Fiesta de Nuestra Comunidad (Our Community Festival) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Linus Pauling Middle School, 1111 N.W. Cleveland Ave.
The fiesta is an opportunity for families to see what services and resources are available to them by browsing tables sponsored by local government, health and social agencies, nonprofit organizations, businesses and educational institutions.
There will be music, performing arts, dancing, food, crafts and special activities for children. Local merchants have donated prizes for drawings to be held throughout the day.
Schedule:
10 to 11 a.m. - Welcome and booths open
11 a.m. to noon - Morning workshops, including college student panel, CAUSA - Oregon's immigrant rights coalition, legal services, health department, substance-abuse prevention
Noon to 1 p.m. - Lunch and entertainment by Albany St. Mary's Dance Group
1 to 2 p.m. - Afternoon workshops, including college student panel, CAUSA - Oregon's immigrant rights coalition, legal services, health department, substance-abuse prevention
2:15 to 3 p.m. - 4-H Fiesta Mexicana Dance Group.
