OSU calling all would-be designers

The Department of Design and Human Environment at Oregon State University is hosting a career symposium for students that is also open to the general public.

The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Thursday at the CH2M Hill Alumni Center, 725 S.W. 26th St., Corvallis. It is the 24th annual symposium.

Representatives from a number of companies and agencies will discuss trends in their industries particularly relating to professional career positions. Sessions will feature speakers from Buckle, Columbia Sportswear, Fred Meyer, Jantzen Swimwear, Macy’s, Neil Kelly Company, Nordstrom, Target and Zimmer Gunsel Frasca Architects in Portland.

There also will be a panel of recent OSU graduates from the Department of Design and Human Environment who will share their job-hunting experiences and tips on how students can improve their chances of landing a job.
