At Clover Ridge Elementary School, second-grade teacher Gina Jantzi kisses Clover, a 3-week-old pig, held by farmer Dave Pape of Crabtree at the conclusion of a fundraising event Tuesday. Students brought in pennies, nickels and dollars over five days and put the money in jars in the staff room, designating whom they most wanted to kiss a farm animal. Jantzi received the most votes. The children raised $466 to pay for a year-end pizza and movie party at the Pix Theater in Albany.
