The Lefevers are one of seven couples nationwide who were given a wedding at their local Wal-Mart stores.

LEBANON - For richer or for poorer. In sickness and in health. In housewares and in home and garden.

Rachel Evans and Michael Lefevers of Lebanon officially became Mr. and Mrs. Lefevers on Saturday in the greenhouse of the Lebanon Wal-Mart Supercenter.

The Lefevers were among seven couples nationwide to win Wal-Mart weddings, and the only winning couple west of the Mississippi.

The promotion, "Lucky in Love," offered the on-site weddings for July 7, 2007. The triple-seven date is seen as the jackpot of lucky numbers - or at least a convenient way to remember one's anniversary.

Guests at the Lefevers celebration said they loved the idea.

"They furnished everything except the formal attire. That was really nice," said Sally Doane of Lebanon, the groom's great aunt.

"Very unusual," commented Marvin Sansom, the bride's father, with a grin.

"But she was a Wal-Mart girl, for sure," her mother, Retha Samson, chimed in. "It was good for her, working there."

Rachel worked at the supercenter for more than three years. She met Michael when a coworker - Michael's sister Milissa - introduced the two.

Rachel learned of the contest on the company's Web site and applied shortly before she moved on to a new job. She said she still shops daily at the retail giant, mostly to visit with friends.

Wal-Mart provided the rings, cake, invitations and other wedding supplies. Company officials cleared a section of the greenhouse and lined up chairs alongside pots of pink impatiens and purple-streaked coleus.

Store co-manager Jody Elliott turned on the boom box to start the "Wedding March," and pastor Garland Rogers - who also works as a Wal-Mart cashier - led the ceremony.

"Thank you for coming to the first ever Wal-Mart wedding, on 7/7/07, and we started at 7:07!" Rogers told the audience.

Then he added, with a smile: "I hope it's blessed of God, more than lucky."
