The Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis has won a $35,000 grant from the Swindels Family Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation to increase the hours of the Lincoln Lion's Den after-school program, and provide homework help and mentoring to at-risk students of Lincoln Elementary school.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis is to help young people reach their full potential as productive, responsible, caring citizens.

The mission of the Oregon Community Foundation is to improve life in Oregon and promote effective philanthropy. The foundation works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes they care about. Through these funds, the foundation awards more than $60 million annually in grants and scholarships.

The Oregon Community Foundation makes grants through an application process that involves local citizens in the review and evaluation of requests for funds. Application materials are available through the foundation's Portland office.

Individuals or businesses interested in establishing a fund may contact the Eugene office at 440 E. Broadway, Suite 160, Eugene OR 97401. The phone number is 541-431-7099.
