PHILOMATH - The town's annual cleanup starts Monday, and residents with junk or recyclables can drop those off at the Philomath Public Works Yard, on Willow Lane off South 15th Street. The event lasts through Saturday, March 8.

Accepted materials include wood, scrap metal, old appliances, yard debris, cardboard and more. A $15 fee is charged for any appliance containing Freon.

Old plastic recycling bins from Corvallis Disposal also can be recycled during the event. Gently used furniture can be donated for those in need.

Unacceptable items include car batteries, tires, motor oil and hazardous waste materials, such as paint or insecticides.

The Philomath Public Works yard is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and proof of city residency, such as a water payment stub, is required to drop off items. For more information, call Public Works at 929-3579.
