Michael Henry Heim, a professor of Slavic languages, will give the second free lecture in Oregon State University's 2009-10 Horning Lecture Series. "Translation: Crossing Borders, Crossing Cultures." It is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Union Journey Room at OSU.

Heim also is professor of comparative literature at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he has taught for more than 35 years.
