A woman reportedly stabbed her roommate multiple times Tuesday with a pair of scissors after an argument in their southwest Corvallis apartment, police said.
Lana Shively-Stilwell, 40, was arrested in connection with the incident and was charged with three counts of second-degree assault and one count of unlawful use of a weapon. She was transported to the Benton County jail, where she is currently being held on $165,000 security in lieu of bail.
The victim sustained multiple, non-life threatening puncture wounds during the assault.
Corvallis Police spokesman Lt. Dave Henslee gave the following account of the incident:
At approximately 8:18 pm Tuesday, the Corvallis Police Department responded to a residence on SW 5th Street in Corvallis for a report of a stabbing that occurred earlier in the day. At the apartment, officers contacted a female victim and her roommate, Lana A. Shively-Stilwell.
During the investigation, officers learned the two had been in an argument regarding a disturbing phone message Shively-Stilwell left with the victim's mother the previous night. As the victim turned to walk away, Shively-Stilwell stabbed her multiple times with a pair of scissors.
