This log includes incidents in which there may have been a public disturbance or a risk to the public. Information comes from the Corvallis Police Department and the Benton County Sheriff's Office. It does not include all calls for service. The status of incidents may change after further investigation. Locations are approximate. People arrested or suspected in crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

Monday, Jan. 21

Minor in possession: 1:24 a.m., Northwest 14th Street and Taylor Avenue. Police cited a 19-year-old man for being a minor in possession of alcohol after pulling him over for making an improper turn. A breath sample revealed the man had a blood alcohol content of .127 percent. No DUII arrest was made.

Harassment: 1:06 p.m., 24500 block North Peak Road, Philomath. Deputies responded to a harassment report from a 17-year-old boy who said another boy cussed at him and pushed him. The caller said the dispute was related to an earlier complaint about the other boy from his mother.

Warrant arrest: 4:35 p.m., 2900 block Northeast Lancaster Street, Corvallis. A deputy served an outstanding warrant to a man who failed to appear in Corvallis Municipal Court.

Theft: 6:31 p.m., 500 block Northwest 25th Street, Corvallis. A caller said an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole $56 from his wallet, which was hidden inside his car. Nothing else had been taken.

Human waste: 7:15 p.m., 400 block Southwest Western Boulevard, Corvallis. An officer was dispatched to the area for a report of a woman yelling for help. The officer drove down an alley and spotted a woman sitting on a pile of dirt and shrubs. She was crying and heavily intoxicated. When the officer asked her what was wrong, the woman said she needed help getting up because she couldn't do it on her own. The woman's pants were down, and she said she had urinated and lost her balance. She eventually rolled to her side and made it up to her knees. The officer noticed scratches on the woman's buttocks from landing on cut-down blackberry bushes. The officer gave the woman a ride home and issued her a citation for urinating in the alley.

Criminal mischief: 8:29 a.m., 24500 block Old Peak Road, Philomath. A caller reported that an unknown person threw eggs that landed in her driveway sometime during the night. The caller said she saw empty beer cans and a carton of eggs that were left near a neighbor's driveway. There was no damage to her home.

Harassment: 9:35 p.m., 800 block Southwest 15th Street, Corvallis. An officer was dispatched to a house after a night of video game playing got out of control for a group of men. One of the men said they were playing the game "Mafia," when he told another man that he was dead. The caller said the second man tried to choke him on three occasions. The man said he was not hurt, other than mentally. Witnesses said the caller over-reacted to the incident. The officer determined that no crime had occurred and told the man he would have to call an attorney if he wanted to address the problem further.

Missing person: 12:22 p.m., 23700 block Woods Creek Road, Blodgett. A caller reported that her roommate had not been seen for three days, and she believed he was missing. The missing man called his roommate four hours later and said he was OK.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

Burglary: 9:26 a.m., 38000 block Highway 99W, near Adair Village. A caller reported that she and her husband's car and tools had been stolen out of their shop. She didn't know about the theft until a Linn County deputy called them and told them a man was driving their vehicle with the tools inside and was acting suspiciously. The deputy arrested the man in Albany on a charge of theft by receiving. It was unclear at the time if the man was responsible for the burglary.
