The Benton County Natural Areas and Parks Department is offering an opportunity for an interested person or couple to camp for free in exchange for volunteer service.

Benton County is seeking volunteers to serve as campground host for Salmonberry Campground near Alsea from Sept. 9 through Oct. 15. The campground is located near the Oregon coast and features 28 sites, flush toilets and pay showers.

The volunteer camp host or hosts would receive a site to park a trailer or recreational vehicle, complete with electricity, water, sewer and local phone service. A list of responsibilities and expectations of camp hosts is available at the Natural Areas and Parks Department office.
