PORTLAND (AP) - Oregon's state medical school says it has 115 new students, 67 from Oregon.
The Oregon Health & Science University says the new class was selected from more than 5,000 applicants.
The school says the new students started their course work last week, in the anatomy lab.
Their first guided clinical experience will come within two weeks.
The school said the class includes three students from a conditional acceptance program. It's a three-term course designed for people from disadvantaged or diverse backgrounds.
The aim is to improve the students' study skills, give them a foundation in science and prepare them for the rigors of medical school.
