BIKE VS. VEHICLE: 9:50 a.m., Northwest Walnut Boulevard and Northwest Highland Drive. A 25-year-old male bicyclist participating in a race collided with a vehicle at an intersection. The bicyclist, despite suffering minor injuries, completed the race.

DUII: 9:41 p.m., 2000 block Southwest Butterfield Drive. A caller reported a reckless driver on Highway 34. The caller followed the vehicle to a house and watched the male driver go inside. Michael Hoover, 27, of Corvallis, was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Hoover appeared intoxicated when an officer spoke to him and denied having driven the car. Hoover refused a field sobriety test and a breath test.

ROUGH RACE: 8:50 a.m., 7300 block Northwest Lowrie Lane. A bicyclist competing in a triathlon flipped over and landed in a ditch. He was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.

SHOVE: 2:50 p.m. A 58-year-old female instructor reportedly shoved a 19-year-old female student after the two got into an argument. The student did not fall to the ground, but claimed she had aggravated a back injury while trying to maintain her balance. A report was sent to the district attorney's office to determine if charges were warranted.

ANNOYING FLIRT: 2 p.m., Valley Library. Library staff complained that a male student was flashing the laser light from a computer mouse at other patrons, annoying them, despite being asked to stop. The student said he did it to get the attention of a girl he liked. He was advised to try another tactic.
