There's a dragon thief out there with a $1,000 bounty on his head.

An anonymous donor has posted a $1,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person who stole a steel dragon sculpture from the cupola on top of Monroe High School two weeks ago, said Monroe School District Superintendent Randy Crowson.

The dragon was the school's mascot. Crowson noticed it was missing Dec. 11. The sculpture and its installation cost about $2,000, he said.

Anyone with information that could lead to the culprit's capture can call Lt. Greg Ridler of the Benton County Sheriff's Office at 766-6858.
