The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West's Concert Band will present a free concert tonight at 7:30 at Oregon State University's LaSells Stewart Center. (A story in last week's Entertainer listed an incorrect time for the start of the concert.)
Tonight's concert will focus on a variety of styles, from traditional wind-ensemble repertoire, to patriotic music and marches. The concert also will spotlight a number of the band's soloists.
Leading the band is Major Keith H. Bland.
The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. The Concert Band, the largest performing ensemble within the Band of the Golden West, is comprised of 45 musicians and plays just about any type of music.
This free concert is sponsored by the LaSells Stewart Center, the Corvallis Gazette-Times, the Albany Democrat-Herald, KRKT radio and KLOO-FM.
Tickets are not required for the concert. For more information, call the LaSells Stewart Center at 737-2402.
The LaSells Stewart Center is at 875 S.W. 26th St., on the southern edge of the Oregon State University campus.
