Here is a look at Benton County public meetings set for the coming days:


• Ward 1 Corvallis Councilor Penny York will be the 10 a.m. to noon government comment corner guest at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Ave.


• The Corvallis-Benton County Economic Development Advisory Board meets at 3 p.m. at the Madison Avenue Meeting Room, 500 SW Madison Ave.

• The Philomath City Council meets in a work session at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 980 Applegate St., to discuss replacing its water treatment plant. At 7 p.m. the regular council meeting is scheduled to convene, with three land annexation decisions on the agenda. The annexations involve 13 “island” properties, property at the end of North Seventh Street and nine lots on Cooper Lane.

• The Benton County Historic Resources Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Avery Complex, 360 SW Avery Ave. The commission will consider two applications, one to replace a cedar shingle roof with asphalt shingles on the Soap Creek Schoolhouse and outbuildings at 37465 Soap Creek Road and another to make changes to approved plans for an addition to the Charles King House at 22930 Harris Road near Wren.


• The Benton County Board of Commissioners will hold a goal-setting work session starting at 9 a.m. at the Corvallis Depot Suites Meeting Room, 700 SW Washington Ave.

• The Corvallis Historic Resources Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown fire station, 400 NW Harrison Blvd. Commissioners will hold a public hearing on alterations to the JC Avery Building, 400 SW Second St.

• The League of Women Voters of Corvallis is hosting a 7 p.m. forum on the feminist movement at the library. On hand will be speakers Allison Davis-White Eyes, Oregon State University’s director of community diversity relations; Susan Shaw, OSU professor of women, gender and sexuality studies; Maria Chavez-Haroldson, owner of Culturally Responsive Solutions; and Luhui Whitebear, assistant director of OSU’s Native American Longhouse Eena Haws and member of the Coastal Band of the Chumash Nation.


• The Benton County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. in the county boardrooms, 205 NW Fifth St. in Corvallis, to discuss possible changes to an agreement on economic development with the city of Corvallis.

• The Corvallis Downtown Advisory Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Madison room and will hear a presentation on crime prevention through environmental design from Trevor Anderson, an officer with the Corvallis Police Department.


• The Corvallis Parks, Natural Areas and Recreation Advisory Board meets at 6:30 p.m. at the downtown fire station.

Feb. 17

• Ward 5 Corvallis Councilor Charlyn Ellis will be the government comment corner guest from 10 a.m. to noon at the library.
