An Albany man was arrested after crashing a stolen car during a pursuit early Saturday morning, according to police reports.

Clifford Allen Sizemore, 32, was lodged in the Linn County Jail on charges of felony attempt to elude (by vehicle), unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, a parole violation warrant, attempt to elude (on foot), driving while suspended, reckless driving, reckless endangering and second-degree criminal mischief.

His initial bail was set at $43,000.

At 4:10 a.m. Saturday, Officer Ben Arthur attempted to stop a gold Honda Accord near Pacific Boulevard and Columbus Street.

The car had been reported as a suspicious vehicle.

A pursuit ensued, and it ended over at Old Salem Road and Kathryn Street, where the car crashed into a curb and embankment, causing the airbag to deploy.

The suspect lost control and hit the patrol car before stopping, doing minor damage to the patrol car.

Sizemore ran before being arrested.

The vehicle turned out to be reported stolen out of Corvallis.

Barfly, try reading it again. Plainly written and correct that he attempted to flee on foot after the accident.

    "Sizemore ran before being arrested."

So APD instead of spending a ton of money on a few hookers at the Phoenix inn why don't you start using the same resources to focus on meth and tweakers? 90 percent of all of the APD hard crime cases relate directly to meth production and distribution.
