Sunday, Oct. 11

POSSIBLE ASSAULTS: 9:17 p.m., 300 block Southwest Fourth Street. Three men, all transients, reported they had possibly been assaulted by "kids" in the past few weeks. The men had bruising on their faces but were unwilling to pursue criminal charges. One suspect was eventually identified. He denied involvement but said he had heard about other people getting into fights with the men.

Sunday, Oct. 18

HIT AND RUN: 9:25 p.m., Northwest 14th Street and Monroe Avenue. A 26-year-old man said he was struck by a white BMW as he walked across an intersection. The man said after he rolled up on the hood, the driver stopped, said, "I'm sorry, I thought it was the brake," then drove off. The driver was described as a white male, 25 to 35 years old, with short blonde hair. The victim was in pain but refused medical treatment.

Thursday, Oct. 22

DUII CRASH: 10:26 a.m., Southeast Alexander Avenue and Southeast Ryan Street. An officer tried to stop a vehicle that was speeding in a school zone on Southeast Third Street, but the car turned onto Alexander Avenue and accelerated. The officer came around a corner to find the vehicle had crashed and was upside down. The driver, Bobbie Jo Pellett, 21, of Philomath, was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. She later was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and attempt to elude.

Wednesday, Oct. 28

SEX ABUSE: Brent Robert Brummett, 43, was arrested on charges of second-degree sex abuse, third-degree sex abuse, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor (online), two counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, sexual misconduct, coercion and criminal impersonation. His bail is $112,500.

Tuesday, Oct. 27

SHOOTIN' THE ... : 9:04 p.m., 25000 block Foster Road. A woman said she was concerned about people shooting guns in the area. Deputies spoke to two teenage boys at another residence who said they were shooting a .22-caliber rifle at a large manure pile.
