Albany Police

Civil War - At about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Oregon and Oregon State football fans got into a scuffle at Denny's Restaurant on Spicer Road in Albany.

According to a police report, an OSU fan entered the restaurant and was taunted by someone among a group of Oregon fans at a table about the Beavers' bowl game loss. He responded by harassing the group about the Ducks' loss in the Rose Bowl.

The confrontation ultimately became physical with as many as 10 people involved. Police broke up the fight.

The OSU fan was escorted out of the restaurant, and officers told the group at the Oregon table that they would be issued disorderly conduct citations if police were called back.

Denny's management chose not to pursue charges.

Caught with pants down -Albany police investigated a report around 5 p.m. Friday of a seventh grader skateboarding with his pants down near the 1000 block of 19th Avenue in Albany. The juvenile was wearing underwear but was gone by the time police arrived.

Linn County Sheriff

Dog Shot - The Linn County Sheriff's Office was contacted around 11 a.m. Saturday concerning a wounded dog that had been found and transported to the Sweet Home Police Department. The person who found the dog said it appeared to have been shot by a high-powered firearm. Deputies took the dog to Linn Veterinary Hospital in Albany for treatment.
