Oregon State University’s dean of students is leaving the university for a job in Florida.

Mamta Accapadi has been named vice president of student services at Rollins College. She will begin her new job in August.

Accapadi came to OSU in 2009 from the University of Texas.

Among the highlights of her stint at Oregon State was her freshman introductory course on Harry Potter, “Finding Your Patronus,” which attracted national media attention.

Accapadi led an interfaith and service initiative on campus as part of a program launched by President Obama in 2011.

And in the fall of 2011, she participated in the Semester at Sea program, traveling around the world aboard ship with 500 undergraduate and graduate students, spending 110 days visiting 10 different countries.
