Health care coverage and a statewide ballot measure that would fund health coverage for more than 350,000 Oregonians will be the focus of the Benton County Democratic Central Committee meeting on Thursday night.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 4515 SW West Hills Road, in Corvallis.
Representatives from the Measure 101 campaign will give a brief presentation, followed by opportunity for questions and answers. The Democratic Central Committee then will discuss and vote on whether to adopt a resolution in support of the ballot measure.
Due in large part to Medicaid expansions under the Affordable Care Act, 95 percent of Oregonians and 100 percent of children in the state currently have access to health care. Measure 101 would uphold a provider and insurance assessment to continue funding insurance for hundreds of thousands of Oregonians.
The event is free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, those interested can call 541-740-4439.
