Auditions are scheduled for Jan. 18 and Jan. 22 for roles in Tony Kushner's historical drama, "A Bright Room Called Day." It will be staged as part of Oregon State University's Holocaust Memorial Week in April. The play centers on a group of friends living in Berlin in 1932 who are confronted with the rise of Adolf Hitler and fascism.

Auditions are scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 6 to 10 p.m. Jan. 22 in Withycombe Hall's lab theater, 30th Street and Campus Way, Corvallis.

Auditions are open to all OSU students, faculty and staff, and to community members. Auditions will mainly consist of games and cold readings. Reading the script beforehand is strongly encouraged. Scripts are available for checkout from Angie Weeks in the Theatre Arts office in Withycombe Hall.

The play is April 14 through 18. Actors who want to be considered must be available for a cast meeting and reading from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 24. Regular rehearsals begin Feb. 22.
