The College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University will be actively promoting the agriculture industry with its annual Ag Day on May 7.

From 9 to 3 p.m., the clubs within the College of Agricultural Sciences as well as many agriculture business vendors will be set up in the the Memorial Union’s quad.

The Ag Day 2013 theme is “Preserving Tradition. Agvocating Today. Growing Tomorrow.” Clubs will showcase how their facet of the industry has combined the old and the new and how they are “agvocating” to be more sustainable in the future. The Young Cattlemen’s Association wil have a BBQ lunch.

New to Ag Day this year is Ag Olympics. Various clubs within the college will host events such as milk chugging, dummy roping, tractor driving, and sack races for students and faculty. Additionally, Ag Day will be expanded into a two-day event with the second day, Ag in the Community, May 8, a community service project — a canned food drive to benefit the OSU food bank.
