A 50-year-old Monmouth man was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing a child in Benton County from the time she was age 5 or 6 to age 11.
Steven Riley Galloway pleaded not guilty in Benton County Circuit Court on Friday to two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of first-degree sodomy, one count of first-degree sexual penetration with an object and one count of first-degree sexual abuse.
Galloway remained in Benton County Jail on Friday on $600,000 bail.
The alleged victim, who is now 17, told a Benton County sheriff detective that Galloway began sexually abusing her when she was 5 or 6 and that she was age 7 the first time he raped her, according to the detective’s probable-cause affidavit. She remembered Galloway using a teddy bear to demonstrate what to do, according to the affidavit.
Galloway was arrested at a Monmouth residence on Thursday.
