Robert Patrick "Bob" Mollahan was born to Patrick A. and Elsie (Owen) Mollahan in Heppner. He attended school in Heppner and graduated in 1947. He attended the University of Portland and Eastern Oregon College prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force.
Bob married Barbara Harradine of Pendleton on Sept. 8, 1952, and they had three sons, Pat, Mike and Chris.
Bob retired from the Air Force in 1969 and returned to Oregon with his family. He graduated summa cum laude from Southern Oregon College in 1971. Bob went to work for the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles and was assigned to the Pendleton office. He was promoted to manager of the Milton-Freewater office in 1974 and transferred to manage the Roseburg office in 1979, until his retirement in 1989. While in Roseburg, Bob volunteered his time at the VA Hospital.
Bob and Barbara moved to Corvallis in 1995 to be closer to their family. They traveled extensively, recently completing a tour of the Mediterranean Sea. They are members of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara; brothers John of Heppner and Larry of Vancouver, Wash.; sister Mary McClure of Seattle; sons and daughters-in-law Pat and Diantha of Corvallis, Mike and Karleigh of Forest Grove and Chris and Debi of Sherwood. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A vigil service will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov., 17, at McHenry Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corvallis. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Willamette National Cemetery.
