Paul A. Goff, 84, passed away at his home in Antioch, Calif., on Tuesday, July 8. Paul was born on June 15, 1924, in Corvallis, and resided the last four years in Antioch.

Paul served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII and the Korean conflict. After his military service was over he moved south to put his fix-it talents to good use during a 36-year career with United Airlines in San Francisco. Despite the vocational change from ships to airplanes, Paul settled near the beach in Pacifica, Calif., to remain close to the call of the sea.

Paul helped found, and then became District Commander of, VFW Post 10245 in Pacifica, and was the chairman of United Airlines' Mainliner Club social organization/travel club for over 10 years. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Loyal Order of Moose, and the Machinists Union, as well as a tour escort for Interline Tours. Paul also loved fishing and travel and was an award-winning photographer.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rose; daughters Donna, Elizabeth and Cathy; seven grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Paul's family is his true legacy. A private memorial service was held on Linda Mar beach in Pacifica.
