1920 - 2009

"Rollie," age 89, passed away Sunday, April 26, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis while recuperating from a fall.

Born in Roberts, Idaho, on March 18, 1920, to Riley Oral Robison and Minnie Elmyra Dunsmoor, he attended lower grades in Roberts, Idaho, and high school in Salem and Corvallis.

Rollie married Delma A. Belnap of Salem, Idaho, on June 6, 1943, after graduating Pharmacy School at Oregon State. He owned and operated a retail drug store in St. Helens until 1948, then moved to Corvallis and set up a farming operation. In 1966, he went to work for a large retail drug chain which relocated the family to Idaho, Colorado, Nevada and Utah. Delma died suddenly of a heart attack in 1979, after which Rollie retired and returned to Oregon, where he later married Juanita Wilson Herring of Corvallis.

Rollie cheerfully endured many health challenges including polio, several hip replacements, heart bypass surgery, and post-polio syndrome. His last few years were spent at Timberhill Place, an assisted living facility in Corvallis, until a fall shortly before his death required him to be under constant medical supervision.

Preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Rollie is survived by five children, Steven Robison of King City, Roland Robison of St. George, Utah, Carl Robison of Beaverton, Lyn Robison of Bountiful, Utah, and Peter and Toni Griessmann of Colville, Wash.; as well as 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 1, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4141 N.W. Harrison Blvd., with a viewing for family and friends prior to the service at 9 a.m. Funeral arrangements are by McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis.
