Floyd B. King of Corvallis passed away Monday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center of congestive heart failure. He was 57.
He was born in Philomath to Elvin Junior King and Petrova King. He grew up in Alsea and attended Alsea schools. He was an avid football player there and graduated from Alsea High School in 1971.
Floyd spent most of his life working in the sawmill industry.
He loved sports, especially football and basketball, and was an Oregon State University Beaver fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at Diamond Lake Resort. He loved to play bingo. Floyd was a very kind, generous man who was always there with a laugh and a smile.
Floyd was a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
He is survived by his father, Elvin King of Corvallis; brother, Elvin "Shorty" King of Corvallis; sisters, Rosalee Hall of Centralia, Wash., and Maggie Wischnofske of Albany; daughter, Kizzy King, and son, Toby King, both of Madras; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Petrova King.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Grande Ronde Cemetery in Grande Ronde.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ralph Hull Heart Center at Good Samaritan Hospital.
