Billie B. Grant died April 27 at the Corvallis Manor. She was 94.

Billie was born on Sept. 15, 1914, in Seattle to Charles and Myrtle Beaton. She grew up in Forest Grove and later St. Helens, where she graduated from high school. She attended Oregon Normal School, where she earned her teaching certificate. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Oregon University and then a Master of Elementary Education from Oregon State University.

During her first year of teaching at Harlan, in 1937, she met Frank Grant and later married him. They lived in Corvallis and she taught in Summit for a year. The couple then moved to St. Helens for several years before returning to Corvallis in 1948. In Corvallis she taught at Lincoln, Washington, Garfield, Dixie and Inavale schools. She is a member of the Retired Teachers, ADK, TOPS and First Congregational Church. She is survived by her loving daughter, Judith J. Baker, and son-in-law Bill Baker of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m. May 16 in the Club House at Adair Village.
