Aug. 26, 1951 - July 26, 2008
Robert "Uncle Bob" Russell, 56, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 26 with his loving wife and boys at his side. He ended his long and courageous battle with kidney cancer at his home in Burnt Woods.
Uncle Bob was born Aug. 26, 1951, in Arcata, Calif., to Robert and Louise Russell.
He graduated from Eddyville High School in 1969 and married Colleene Prindel in October 1970. Together they raised four boys. He joined the Army in 1971 and served for three years.
Uncle Bob was a devoted family man who loved the outdoors, including hunting and working on projects. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. This past year he enjoyed his time admiring the view from his front porch with his family and friends.
He was a defender of faith who loved to spread the Word. Always putting others before him, he never passed an opportunity to share his opinions.
He is survived by his wife, Colleene; sons Charles and his wife, Rachel, Josh and his wife, Angie, Dan and his wife, Michelle, and Scott and his wife, Jodi; grandkids Michaela, Rebecca, Spencer, Cameron, Chelbi, JJ, Rylee, Hannah, Daniel, Amie, Chad and Brady; mother, Louise; sisters, Patty DeVaughn and Diana McGuire; and brother Don.
Uncle Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert; son, Justin Miles; and grandchildren, Natalia, Brittany and Erin.
A private family burial was held on the Russell Family property.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, in the Russell Family Campground, Shot Pouch Road, Blodgett. Potluck to follow.
