Judith Ann Woodburn died on Monday, Aug. 18, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. Judy was 68. She was born on Feb. 20, 1940, in Pontiac, Ill., to Byrne and Amie Riess Woodburn.
Judy worked as a medical records secretary and medical office receptionist in Fairbury, Ill., and Bloomington, Ill.
She moved to Corvallis in 1980 and was an active volunteer in the community. She was past president, current treasurer and church coordinator for the Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers (V.I.C.). She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Benton Hospice and Grace Center for Adult Day Care. She was an active member and deaconess at the First Baptist Church in Corvallis. She was honored in 2006 with the Rev. Charles William Singer Lifetime of Service Award from Bridge International.
Survivors include her sisters, Margy Woodburn of Corvallis and Kay Jordan of Gallup, N.M.; brothers Jim and John Woodburn, both of Pontiac, Ill.; eight nieces and nephews; and 14 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the Corvallis First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Saunemin, Ill., at the Sunny Slope Cemetery in the Woodburn family plot.
Memorials may be made to either Meals on Wheels, Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers or Bridge Builders International in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis.
