Lorie Lyne Spinney, 51, of Alsea died Saturday, Oct. 31, following a motor vehicle accident.

She was born Dec. 21, 1957, in Eugene. Lorie was raised in Eugene, and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1976. She then moved to the Philomath area, where she had resided ever since. Lorie had been a homemaker while she was raising her family, and had most recently worked as a home health care provider.

She loved animals, especially horses. She also enjoyed sailing, the ocean, gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her son, Colton Spinney of Albany; daughters Kandice Spinney of Philomath and Kendra Spinney of Alsea; father, Harold Wright of Eugene; mother, Donna Clark of Emmett, Idaho; sisters Julie Jones of Spokane Valley, Wash., Shere Clark of Emmett, and Nanci Nelson of Otis Orchard, Wash.; and grandchild Baby Spinney of Philomath.

A celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Albany Eagles Lodge, 127 Broadalbin St. N.W., Albany. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.
