Beryl Bunker, born Beryl Saums Angleman, died in her home in Corvallis in the company of her daughter after a short illness.

Beryl was born to parents Kenneth C. and Sara C. Angleman of Fanwood, N.J. She graduated high school from St. John Baptist School in 1948 and graduated from Goucher College in 1952. Beryl married Joseph D. Bunker in 1950 and is survived by their three children, Joseph D. Bunker Jr., Timothy A. Bunker and Valerie B. Roy; by her brother Capt. Cornell C. Angleman, USN Ret., of Georgia; and by sister Gail A. Brusch of Pennsylvania.

In 1969, Beryl graduated from the University of Maryland with a Masters of Social Work. Beryl was called to serving those in need as a social worker in Maryland for many years, a volunteer and later staff member of San Francisco Suicide Prevention, and as a volunteer at the South Corvallis Food Bank. Beryl adored her four grandchildren, Zoe Bunker, Matthew Bunker, Janine Bunker and Morgan Roy. In retirement, she worked as a loving nanny to her grandson Matthew Bunker.

Beryl loved Corvallis and was an avid theater and symphony goer. Along with her work at the South Town Food Bank, she also volunteered for other organizations such as the Democratic Party and Planned Parenthood.

Memorial contributions can be made to the South Corvallis Food Bank or Planned Parenthood. A memorial service will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Corvallis Senior Center to honor her life of giving and loving so well.
