George Henry Lutz passed away Saturday in Corvallis, just seven months shy of his 100th birthday.
Born on Nov. 7, 1909, in Wren, George was the third-eldest child of seven born to John N. Lutz and Emma E. Nois.

Returning home from his time in the Army, George worked various roles in the lumber industry until his retirement and subsequent life of solitude in Blodgett. After retirement, he spent much of his time eluding family members and gardening.
George is survived by five nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, four brothers and one niece.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. Twin Oaks Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
